Dogs arenât stupid. Mine often ate the covering , kept the pills in their cheeks and spat them out when my back was turned.
Both of them had that âit wasnât meâ expression.

The only way Iâve managed it peacefully is to crush up the pill, mix it in with peanut butter, and let him lick it off the spoon. He loves his pills that way.

I can so relate to this. I think dogs have secret pouches in their mouths where they can hide pills so they can later spit it out behind a chair or under a table.

Dogs need car sickness pills?

Recently located a nice little stash of doggie pills behind the hall chair. The dogâs wide-eyed innocent âwho me?â expression when questioned about it clearly indicated to me the culprit could only be âŠ.the very devious budgie:) Uh oh,âŠ. does budgie have a little business going on the side??:)

Iâve found a product at my vetâs called âPill Pocketsâ. Works with my dog Clementine.

I tried those pill pockets too. Barty ate the pocket and left the pill. We are back to the pry mouth open and shove it down the gullet technique.

If Poncho needs a car sickness pill, howâs he going to be if they end up on teh fishing trip. Poor Chas !!!!!!

@cdward and KatiekicksThanks for your advice. I used to break up his heart worm pill and put it in chunks of his dinner. Never had a problem. The last two doses I just fed him whole..like a doggie treat!

Anybody have any good ideas about how to cut a dogâs toenails without a big battle?

The trick Iâve learned (from Field & Stream actually) is have two treats, cheese or whatever, hide the pill in one and give it them while they can see the second treat, then quickly follow up with the second. Theyâre so focused on the second treat they gulp down the pill laced one too quick to notice. Works quite well on my food obsessed beasts.
