Well we got a new puppy yesterday. So far she barks, drinks, pees. I find this strip very accurate. Our older dog who is a barker when he hears something knew there was nothing to bark at so he had to examine the situation. Came to the conclusion the pup was sad or lonely. Not real sure but looking right at her barked softly at her. In 30 seconds he starts howling. Then she changes to howling and they got softer and the pup was asleep in 2-3 minutes. It was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I hope they are best friends for a long time. The older one is loosing his eye sight and I want him to have a buddy when he’s in the yard as he gets older. The pup is a Shepard mix and should be able to her brother inside. Older dog is a pug.

Son of a gun. I never had a dog run empty on barks before. Good thing Poncho delivers.

My dad’s cat one time drank a puddle of gasoline that had come from a leak he had. The cat ran around and around the yard then suddenly just stopped and lay down. He ran out of gas! (That was one of my dad’s favorite jokes. Boy, do I miss him.)

I think the dog I hear at night has geothermal or a nuclear reactor power source. . .

My beagle almost never ever barks and I had to teach her to howl. I think she only earned her beagle certificate due to her previous life as a hunter. She’s a champion hunter. Even then, she didn’t howl, based on what I have heard when she tracks a rabbit on a walk with me. She will “yip” when she’s on a scent. As she gets louder, we have to change our direction. She ignores dogs who bark aggressively at her. She ignores squirrels. She will wag her tail and smile at almost anything. I have never had such a quiet dog.

I love the “ding-ding-ding” sound, just like the old-style gasoline pumps!
