I will never vote in an uncontested election. I’ll be darned if I’m giving somebody a mandate if there isn’t enough interest to attract two candidates.
Man, I agree! I live in a safe district, and most elections do not have opposition at all. I never (no matter what party) will vote with only one candidate on the ballot.
I always vote, but if there’s only one candidate, I write someone else in.
In my neighborhood, there a “nothing” election (no important offices) once every four years. I think we get to vote on three judgeships, and that’s it. They are almost always uncontested, and usually three people I’ve never heard of, and know absolutely nothing about.
This comic is a demonstration of how Trump being in office degrades almost everything.
It isn’t just that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue. It’s that if he did, a significant number of people would start thinking that shooting someone on 5th Avenue was acceptable behavior.
“[T]hinking that shooting someone on 5th Avenue was acceptable behavior” You mean it isn’t? There’s lots of doors on 5th Avenue. Also side streets, alley ways, manholes, and moving vehicles. Of course, the targets are not walled in, as in a classroom.
Explains, unfortunately, how absolutely everything Trump does actually makes sense! Not that making sense has anything to do with the good of America!
Bottom line: The presidency is nothing more than a continuation of Trump ‘s television shows and celebrity. It’s all about the ratings and remaining the number one thing that everyone’s talking about.
There is no “bad press.” And if Trump is in the news, just about everything else is taking a back seat.
Americans sure are – in the back seat.
Which is where I suppose we’ll be when Trump arrives at his Thelma and Louise ending!

If there’s some ‘reason’ you don’t vote, this is something you should read:
http://www.stonekettle.com/2018/05/hunting-unicorn-to-extinction.html
It has a normal amount of Jim Wright’s unvarnished language. If you’re offended by that, you should read it anyway.
Also read it if there’s any reason whatsoever that you don’t like what Trump is doing. And keep in mind that he is not doing it alone. He cannot.

So impose a tariff on your northern neighbour who has more aluminum capacity than the entire USA. That’s shooting yourself in the foot
