True of some, but not of all. There have been politicians of all parties, and various places on the spectrum of politics generally, who have been very clear about what they believed and what they would advocate for if they achieved the office they sought. Whether or not each of us agreed with their views, you have to respect their sincerity. There are, in fact, honest and hard-working politicians. If you look at your rep, at whatever level, and think they do not fit that description, vote against them in the next election.
