A year ago I had to change pharmacies when the one I was using went out of business. They had bottles that opened without all the tricks. The one I’m using now do not so I regularly have to get out the cutting pliers and render the bottles openable. I haven’t reached the age where I’ll need to be protected against myself.
Get a child to open it! Walgreens has caps that you can flip over so you can just twist them on and off. Once I get them open, that’s what I do. Not that it’s all that hard to open them the other way.
I bought some Tylenol with an ‘oldtime’ twist of cap a while ago. I have a few of them. I wash and reuse them over and over again. Bleep childproof caps.

1. Push down on cap
2. Lift tab on cap
3. Hold left foot approximately 3 inches off of the ground
4. Grimace with mouth
5. Turn head to left and cough
6. Twist cap clockwise once, then counter-clockwise twice
7. Find a small child to open cap for you

I open most child-proof caps with one hand. I can see where somebody with less strength would have problems…

Some have a lid you can turn over. Or ask when you refill.

I have no problems with child proof caps, but I think the person who invented plastic clamshell packages should be staked out on an ant hill.

Prescription caps can be bad, but it’s the tri-level security caps on condiment bottles that drive me crazy. Let me in to this salad dressing, please!
