The other day I was holding a passenger’s dachshund while he got other things out of my car. The dog immediately gave me doggy kisses which I normally like, but this dog had garbage breath. How can he stand to live that way!? (What choice has he got?)

Today’s strip shows that Red and Rover are back to their usual selves following last week’s unusual but interesting story arc in which their senses of smell and hearing changed around. As I said on Saturday, I would have liked to see Zeke and Reuben reacting to Rover’s senses of smell and hearing being reduced to a human level.

I hope that Rover’s enjoyment of the smell of toxic waste dumps doesn’t mean that he would go near one.

Zeke and Rueben ROCK. They should have an emergency meeting to discuss this odious situation. Ha!

Dogs only smell things as different, not good or bad. You don’t want to know what I pulled out of my dog’s mouth yesterday. Usually “ICK!” will make her re-consider, but not for that one.
