Sorry to disagree with you Red! Tesla and Ford are already having battery problems. One electric car owner said driving one was very stressful because of number of recharging stops in a recent trip.
Sure thing. And all we have to do is strip mine half the planet to get enough lithium to make all those batteries that will only last a few years. Good plan.
Back at the New York World’s Fair. 1964- they envisioned electric cars that were more like slot cars. Just put in your destination, sit back and relax.
Hours & hours of playing with my HO slot cars. My Basset Hound would just sit there and watch the cars go round and round. Eventually he’d get up and walk away. Ha. You could even go to hobby shops with enormous tracks. Great memories, nice story line Brian.
In 1890, an electric wagon was introduced to the United States, and between 1900 and 1912 a third of all vehicles on U.S. roads were powered by electricity. Then in 1908, Henry Ford introduced the Model T. The Ford was easier to refuel, competitively priced, and sold 15 million units by 1927 which was the demise of the EV at the time…
Not enough Lithium mines now to meet demand. How can the world power hundreds of millions more EV’s with no batteries??? Hydrogen cells are the answer. BMW is ahead of the curve.

The grooves in the pavement are going to be a problem, not to mention changing lanes.

What’s going to be the source of that electricity?

Who knew? Circa-1957 Christmas, not HO style either, 2 cars both hot rods, sparks flying, 7 years old, endless hours of fun.

Red didn’t know how big electric cars would be in his future.

Yeah. I thought that by 2000 we would all be driving electric cars. But not even close:(

Note that Red’s EV’s are plugged into a fossil fuel energy supplied wall plug.

I had one of those figure 8 racetracks. They were cool in their day….

I was only allowed to play with traditional girl toys. I see the track is plugged in, not the cars. Is that electric cars or an electric “road?”

Just read it is harder for firemen to put out a car fire in an electric car.
