A dog may not like nail-trimming, but it doesn’t make him fear his owner. At least not my dogs, and not my kid’s dogs.

Rover isn’t afraid of Red’s Mom so he won’t be afraid of Red if she does teach him to trim nails. Of course, their friendship might not be quite the same after that.

Love mom using her foot to close the dryer door. Red, be a sport, and get engaged. Mom is working her butt off.

If it’s done correctly, nail trimming doesn’t hurt. That’s why I let the groomer do Newton’s nails—I’d be afraid I might nip a nail too short. So the fear is mine!

I used “Pedi-Paws”. My dog didn’t like it until first I turned it on and rubbed up and down on his back like a massager. ;-)

That was something that I never had to do to Chinook (Avatar) ……. one time when I had him at the Vets for his regular visit, I told them to trim if they though he needed it ………. came out with him and said that his nails were excellent and didn’t need trimming ………. he ran enough everyday on our dirt road, that it kept his nails trimmed ……. ;)

A dog may learn to put up with it. But they will never come up to with the clippers and request a trim.
