Not exactly stations but I have seen people sitting and reading to dogs (and other animals) during fireworks displays.

Based on panel 2, it looks like all of their teamwork came to a fruitful end! Good work, R&R!

Too bad that we didn’t see Ruby’s laboratory.

Will we see that in a later story arc or will it always be left to our imaginations?

Mom’s station wagon looks like a 1958 or ’59 Chrysler product, likely a Plymouth. The fins and the side spear trim are the tells.

A junior mad scientist who soothes dogs? Ruby sounds like a keeper!

Confession: I’m a real softie. I won’t watch a movie if the dog dies.

My other dog Gracie, who is now passed, hated the 4th and went crazy during fireworks! I definitely did not like that day because of that! But my Lizzie is a lot more content with it. She just barks maybe at first and then settles down! Each dog reacts different, I suppose!

Our dogs watch the Dog TV channel and bark at the screen. Seems to settle them down during our Independence Day fireworks show.

I’m impressed that Red is sitting in the middle in the back with his seat belt ON. We weren’t!

Ruby is a wonderful addition to the strip. It’s great to see Red and Rover have a new friend. I hope we get to see Ruby, Red, and Rover having many new adventures. ❤️

Neither my late Min-Pin Jack, or my present Dachshund was / is afraid of any storms. They both slept / sleep through them! Soothing Centers though would be great for those dogs that are frightened or even classes for dog owners so that they can learn how to soothe their dogs themselves!!!

MY DOG IS MY CO PILOT  3 months ago

When my dog Shilo was a puppy he was scared of thunder and lightning. So to get him over that the next time there was a storm I took him outside and played with him. Thankfully he was a very playful puppy (he’s 10 now he still is) even though and was more interested in his frisbee than the storm. I did this everytime there was a storm and he soon got over his fear to the extent that when he heard thunder he would go and get his frisbee so we could play. I did this so he would not be frightened if I was out and there was a storm.

I know that the need to comfort your pet when he’s scared like that is what comes naturally to any pet owner, but that just makes them think that there’s something to be scared of, but if you can find a way to prove there is nothing to be scared of in a fun and positive way that they understand, this stops them being scared altogether and that’s what’s most important. It worked for me as Shilo soon lost his fear of storms in fact he slept through most of the last one we had here last week.☺♥
