Are they happy because they were treated badly as employees (I assume they were employees of the deceased couple) or also because they’d become beneficiaries? Will they be out of work ?

If you think about it, celebrating a murder is a great way to throw off suspicion.

“So, Sheriff, you’re telling the court that my client seemed completely surprised by the death?”

It’s such a tragedy that tears are streaming down their faces. They’re from laughing too hard, but you take what you can get.

I have seen this reaction before when I told a former co worker that the bosses wife had died. She was just as jubilant.

Er…um suspects one and two???

The sincerity is overwhelming.

One takes it, from the word balloons in panel three, the Weathers weren’t well loved.

I’m not totally sure but, I suspect that maybe…just maybe, that this couple were not well liked!
