Acting Sheriff Bunnyhill, Deputy Fizz and Mayor FussyBritches are learning that, much like Batman, Rip isn’t the cause of these villains, he is the response.

You KNOW, he’d make a great background character in future strips. Maybe in a distant bed in hospital scenes.

This may well outlive my personal war on Sam over at DICK TRACY (though I did give him a moment of glory in my second guest strip, I’ve always worried about Sam…).

Either Fizz’s sunglasses are totally opaque—and there’s something seriously wrong with his hearing—or ‘bro’ has a unisex sense that I wasn’t aware of.

Actually, as far as demands go, that’s not as bad as it could be. Maybe $15 would be more reasonable, but maybe the Highwayman knows the population and has calculated the best amount.

It seems the Highwayman is going for a more affordable ransom, rather than one that will break the local economy. That way, in a few months — when this ransom is all spent — he can pull the same caper again.
