If you go on a date and the other person orders a cicada salad… keep looking.

Two caterpillars are fleeing from a spider…

They climb up a small branch and get to the edge, but realize they are now trapped.

“Hold on tight!” says the first caterpillar, and he quickly chews through the branch. It snaps and they begin to fall, but he grabs two protruding twigs and steers the branch through the air with grace and finesse.

“That’s amazing!” says the second caterpillar. “How the hell are you doing that?!”

The first caterpillar scoffs. “Am I the only one in the whole damm forest who knows how to drive a stick?”

I’m not a fan of that type of spider. Bats eat mosquitos and I hate mosquitos!

Every time a major cicada brood hatches out, somebody starts up with the cicada recipes. Yes, they are edible and a lot of wild life will gorge themselves till they barf and then go eat some more. I’ve never had a desire to try eating insects. They might be good protein, and probably fry up well, might even be good dipped in chocolate, but I’ll pass.

Some say the cicadas are a garnish. I say it’s a contest! Who will digest most of the salad, the guest or the garnish?
