Spider Webs. I was working on a farm, an old European visitor had an accident, his hand was crushed between to plates of steel, the hand was not cut or crushed off, but very damaged. He immediately grabbed all the dusty spider webs around the windows and wrapped his hand.
The ambulance arrived and he refused treatment by the paramedics, but wanted to go to the hospital, they refused because he did not want treatment. The police officer drove him to ER.
The doctor said he should be passed out from the pain and damage. But the spider webs were suppressing it. The hand was stabilized, the Old Guy came back to the farm again for more spider webs, from another barn. The ER doctor never saw anything like and left the ER to investigate this and other old remedies.
I learned from watching Alaskan reality tv shows that birch bark is the perfect tinder that will catch fire even when wet and when temps are well below 0 degrees.
