Scented candles are an abomination. They are too highly scented, burn eyes and sinuses. The room freshener companies have sold us a bill of goods. They have convinced us that we are so smelly that we are socially acceptible only if we smell like (fill in the blank). Too many conflicting ‘fragrances’.
We are inundated with fragrances which cause real health issues for the sensitive. I react to most perfumes/fragrances with anaphylaxis. Not fun. I find it oddly amusing that some of the same people screaming about peanut products feel the need to drench themselves in fragrance. My allergic reaction to fragrance is my problem and my responsibility (as is my shellfish allergy) so I take the necessary steps to protect myself. Of course, when my eyes start watering, my nose starts running and I start coughing and sneezing, I am unapologetic when the cause is fragrance. I simply take meds and state that someone’s fragrance is affecting me. For all you fragrance hounds – shut up about my nutty diet!

That damn scent or flavoring seems to be ubiquitous. I like pumpkin pie but enough with flavored coffee or tea and candles.

I can’t stand pumpkin spice ANYTHING. I don’t like pumpkin…period. When it comes to scents, give me either vanilla, rose, or lilac.

I love pumpkin spice – in pumpkin pie and while it works in a few other places – it’s really at it’s best in the pie.
