I’m looking after a friend’s cat. She sits on my lap whenever I sit anywhere but slowly slides off so I have to sit uncomfortably with my knees as high as possible and an arm craddling her bum. At night she sleeps with me and I have to mold myself around her, not daring to move, body in odd positions to accomodate her. I love her but in some ways it’ll be a relief when she goes.
I wish my kitten would sit separately. For some reason, she can’t have any fun anywhere that’s more than two inches away from my feet. The scratches are inevitable. The “funny” part is, she’s not even playing with me, I’m just a side casualty.

And here I fully expected the cat to sit right on her open book.

With our cats it depends on their mood. Half the time they sit on top of us.

Oh yes. It is the kitty way! They love us and want to be near us, just not within arms-reach a lot of the time.

Sometimes long distance relationships work.

I often feel the same way. Just because I want to be near you doesn’t mean I want to touch you.

Our calico is like that. She has to be just out of my reach. But always on the Mrs’ lap. Even when she’s working.

They want to spend time with us, but on their own terms. I can respect that.

They want to be close in case you break out some food.

I miss my dog. He acted like a cat, and would do this with me.
Thank you for this comic, fellow pet person.
