Placebo is very interesting. A Brit called Ben Goldacre wrote a book called Bad Science. Serious research into placebo shows: 2 pills (any drug) better than 1, pills given by a doctor work better, named brand pills work better than identical cheap generic pills, placebo works even when people are told it is a placebo. This is research done on real conditions, so there is more going on than ‘its not a real pain’ that goes away with a sugar pill.
