Got his butt kicked by Tesla and Westinghouse (AC v DC)

One of his guys did come up with a way to charge for use of electricity.

Edison was a genius, but he ignored Tesla. Westinghouse didn’t make that mistake.

If Edison really had invented the electric bill, wouldn’t it be called the electric thomas?

There was a lack of government impedance in those days. And people could and did invent a lot of stuff that charged the world of today.

Just for the record…. Edison did not invent the electric bulb, he improved it…

The teacher giving that quiz should flunk. Edison did not invent the light bulb. For shame!

Could be. Edison never passed up a chance to monetize his inventions.

He was too busy stealing others and monopolizing on them!!

That was an invention we are still paying for…

He had to come up ith the electric meter so he could know how much to charge people.

Edison and Westinghouse were pretty ruthless businessmen.

It’s all about money, a syndicate of financiers including JP Morgan and the Vanderbilts established the Edison Electric company, Tesla’s idea of free energy would not make them any money; JP Morgan who initially fronted money in the end withdrew his support for Nikola Tesla hence we pay for our electricity.

Electric bills… that’s what birds use when they want light snacks.
