It cured your earworm though, didn’t it?

I have to give my dog a pill twice a day. I usually hide it in her food. No problem.

We had a dog that would chew up whatever we hid the pill in, swallow, THEN spit the pill out. We finally had to jam the pills to the back of her throat so she would swallow them.

I had a dog with this issue. I mean, he just spit it out, not pull it from my ear. When we were at the vet, he said it was simple and he showed how to get our dog to swallow the pill. And after he did it and said: “See it is easy.” our dog spit up the pill. So he gave it to us in liquid form.

I did learn later that if I hid the pill in a bit of Oatmeal Creme Pie, he would not spit it up.

A friend of mine had a girlfriend that didn’t like spinach, but he did. So one day he mixed it in with the mashed potato hoping to disguise it. She got a little suspect of the mash with the slight green tinge. Didn’t look appetising.

Used to take a fat hot dog, cut off a piece 3 times the pill’s length, cut out a core piece big enough for the pill, then re-insert the core. None of the three dogs ever failed to swallow those.

This is not a new trick for the dog.

It apparently is a new trick for the man.

Only thing that fools my dog is a “bacon sandwich”. 1 small square of cooked bacon, scoop on a teaspoon of cooled bacon fat, hide pill in fat, then top with another square of bacon. Then the only trick is to get my fingers our of the way!
