Is it that much different from old elephant smell?

A “new” elephant after it has been broken by cruelty, subdued by brutality.

My car is 10 years old, what new car smell? I can guarantee it does not smell of cigarette smoke, I quit back in 1996. A friend wanted to buy a used car, it had everything he could think of, it also reeked of cigarette smoke so he went on to another car.

Just turn the key and start his engine. One whiff of that exhaust and see how much you love it.

Dave, I wish you would not perpetuate a tradition of keeping wild animals captive. Elephants deserve better than to be beaten into submission, cruelly penned (usually with a spiked metal band around an ankle tied to a stake), forced to walk on unnatural surfaces that damage their feet, and carry heavy loads that fracture their spines, many times while malnourished and isolated from their own kind- which is especially heartbreaking since they live in communities in the wild.
