My student loan was paid off in seven years. I graduated in 1974. My loan was for $2500 and included books. I went to Rutgers. But I had free room and board because I commuted to school.
My student loans are so burdensome that I’ve already resigned myself to having them until I die. I’m just happy they die when I die so my son doesn’t have to be saddled with my debt and his own (when he gets old enough to get his own student loans). Nothing else I can do. I focus on keeping a roof over our heads, food in our mouths, clothes on our backs. Student loans come last.

Every month as I was writing the check for my student loan, I would think to myself, “I don’t feel smarter”.

Betsy De Vos was lobbied by the companies who give student loans…student loans will never go away, as she walks away with her bribe money…..

Not a joke. 25% of student loans with a balance belong to seniors. Just paid mine off a few years ago at 67
