My original reaction was negative, but when I thought about it some more, it really is hard to think of any sports-related jerkiness of note this year. I sure hope we get back to normal this year.

Let’s be consistent with the mispellings: And besides, the blue-ribon comite can’t aford to lawyer up for result chalenges.

I’d say the SJOY should be COVID-19.

Aw, Tank…I was looking forward to seeing who was going to be nominated!

Didn’t seem to be too many obvious candidates last year.

So apparently they couldn’t afford 2 Fs in the word afford either… must be a really bad year!

Is there any place that has a list of the SJOY winners over the years? I would like to see that but can’t seem to find one anywhere.

So whose the winner?

Give the totally weird circumstances of 2020, I agree that nominating an SJOY is rather pointless – Afterall, there are a plethora of Jerks in other fields that overshadow sports figures.

Although … there’s one purported golfer…

Everyone: Remember – Don’t feed the trolls.

I still want to nominate a SJOY: all the baseball players who wanted to be paid their entire salary for a shortened year.

Considering that the players are exactly hurting for money and considering that millions of Americans had lost their jobs, their tone-deafness and selfishness is beyond the pale.

Can we nominate Tank for the award? No offense but a lot of your material was way below average and took unfair shots at good athletes who you have a grudge against like Tom Brady!

A decision that is disappointing but understandable. At least we got the Bum Steer awards issue from Texas Monthly this month. That is some consolation.

A nomination should be made for jerks that kept sneaking out to party and bringing girlfriends and escorts into the sports bubbles.

How about sports idiots of the year? After all the wildcard games Saturday and yesterday, I have plenty of nominees.

First of all, “AFFORD” has two “Fs” in it, so the Jerk of the Year should be the author of this strip!!

I wish the rest of 2020 was that easy to dismiss!

I nominate LeBron for last year and this year too.

This is a good call, imho. It’s been a challenging year and it just doesn’t seem like it would be fun to recap sportjerkmanship. I wouldn’t mind a bright spot award
