I can’t help remembering Timmy. He was the superstar of my younger brother’s Little League days, the kid who could throw curves and sliders at 11. Dominated local play, would surely play in the bigs. And his elbow was gone by 13, and he never so much as played for the high school team.
She knows how this works. The kid doesn’t give a hoot. She knows she will be working to please Dad and not the kid. Especially since Dad signs the checks.
One of our daughters has 3 boys (age 7-13 The 13yo is already 6’4". Of course both his parents are tall) all very involved in youth/little league baseball. IMVPO youth/ little league baseball is organized for the parents, not the kids. Kids these days are playing organized sports starting when they are far to young, in many cases by the time they start HS they are burned out and hate the sport they had loved when they started playing it

She may have a “stock package” of services for this kid. He’s one of hundreds.

Most comics are funny because they are true. This just makes me sad for the same reason.
