This is like Poncho on Pooch Cafe. His vet is always traumatized by him.
My dogs and cats have always been pretty good at the vet, though Spicy gets scared. They seem to accept that they are dominated and outnumbered by the vet staff,
National National Creativity Day. I don’t expect to get creative, beyond working in my garden. I’m thinking of planting pumpkins if I still have pumpkin seeds left. I think I do. Then several months from now, I can be creative with my pumpkins if we do our pumpkin decorating contest at work again. I don’t have a lot of luck growing pumpkins because I keep getting stink bugs in them. But if my pumpkins do okay, I’ll donate them to our pumpkin contest (just keeping the best pumpkin for myself).
National Loomis Day.
National Water a Flower Day. I plan on planting some impatiens and yes, I’ll water them after I plant them.
We used to have a cat like that. He was a male version of Lily, fluffy white with a long fluffy black tail. Unless he was in the right mood, he hated being touched, so his vet folder had big red letters, just like the one in today’s strip, saying BITES!
Martin Loomis invented the wireless telegraph which changed the world. Creativity from him and many others continues to change the world. To water my large shrubs and new trees, I get 5-gallon buckets and drill two small holes within two inches of each other on the bottom which slow drips to deep water. Two national holidays in one. Yeah, me. Mint Julep Day should have been closer to Kentucky Derby Day where most are consumed.

Not too long before the vet retired, he hired a younger vet to assist him.
Time for one of AC’s visits.
Old vet says to young vet “You don’t want to take him out of the carrier like that.”
Younger vet knows better and grabs AC by the scruff of the neck.
Younger vet spent some time cleaning the blood off his hand and arm and dressing the damage he’d sustained after he tried to treat AC so disrespectfully.
The older vet told this story to the wife when she came to collect AC – the older vet was grinning when he told her (out of earshot of the young vet.).
AC is always willing to be your friend. But if you start badly, he’ll always finish it.
We had a cat that hated the vet. She didn’t hate the vet until they prepped her for neutering and shaved off her nipples. I had to leave while we were waiting for someone to remove her stitches, and came back after my wife took her to the exam room. She was an 8 lb kitten that was letting out the angry yowl of a demonically possessed 40 lb wildcat that I could hear in the lobby. They paged for a lab tech. He showed up wearing welder’s leather gauntlets that went up to the elbow.
Oh, that poor vet. :( If she thinks giving Chesney a checkup is rough, just wait until Lily has an appointment! (Oliver probably wouldn’t give her any trouble, though.) On another note, saw a junco and some robins while out walking today.
One of my favorite comics from many years ago was of a man in a doctor’s office, getting stitches. He had his arm in a sling, bandages everywhere and an eye patch on. The doctor asked him what happened. He said, "I tried to give my cat a pill.

A little “something” in his breakfast would work too. We had to do this for Tilley ( she was insane!).

Oh dear! Chesney must be a real holy terror if the vet is thinking of changing careers rather than examining him.

Love the name of the Vet Clinic. Moxie loves everyone at the vet. They have treats.
