Has anyone seen the new TV that comes in a picture frame and you can access any art museum in the world, show tropical fish, put up your own pics and artwork and it comes on automatically when you approach it! No more watching boring programs, you always have something to look at. I think I will get one. Not much on TV for me except Expedition Bigfoot and Kindred Spirits, and of course Flip or Flop. I only watch the News as far as the Weather.
So, after being on vacation for 6 days, I wasn’t sure what I’d see when I got back to my garden center. Well, first I saw the plants were watered while I was gone, though some plants were drooping. All in all, though, that part wasn’t too bad. They had been using a sprinkler at night to help keep up with the watering. The sprinkler doesn’t reach everything, though, so some things were missed.
But plants were strewn all over – not where they belong. Plants that were $6.88 or $9.88 were on the tables with the $2.86 plants, etc. Then when I ventured further into our garden area, I saw several racks of new plants, many of those were dry.
Then when the Bonnie company came with their delivery of vegetable and herb plants, we had to open the front gate to let them in. And that’s when I saw something that made me want to cry. Someone had left several racks of tropical plants out in front of the garden center doors (but outside the area that was being watered with the sprinkler). Apparently, nobody bothered to let anyone know those plants were even out there, so the poor plants went all week without getting watered. We lost a lot of mandevilla and hibiscus plants as a result. And the new person who just started working in the garden center (and who had been doing a pretty good job watering the plants) had a family emergency so she was out all week while I was gone. So she isn’t at fault. The fault lies with the person who put all those plant racks out on the front sidewalk without telling anyone they were there.
So, I spent the day watering and sorting through the mandevilla plants, trying to see if any can be saved. I didn’t have time to do the same with the hibiscus, but that will be the next thing I do. Then lots of CVP’s (markdowns) on all the plants that don’t look good but can maybe still be saved and throwing away plants that can’t be saved. I have a very busy day or two ahead of me.
Years ago I was getting a loan and the loan officer suggested I get insurance in case something were to happen and I couldn’t make the payment. My reply, “If I can’t make the payment you can get in line with everyone else I owe.”
A Blue Jay is, once again, nesting in a small tree next door. Neighbor said nest is deep within the foliage and he heard the babies peeping. Dive bombing will commence…….. such protective birds. Maybe Tad1 can stroll by for a peep.
At least Lilly’s being honest. You might want to think twice about that loan, Birdie. On another note, saw four robins, five rabbits, a towhee, a junco, and a wren while out walking today.

At Q.of A. I wouldn’t curtail my water usage either just so some hog can squander it somewhere else.

That bird has a beak longer than Lily and a body as big. I don’t think I’d want to be the cat who sought payment from him.

I took QTπ down into the harbor and we saw a Loon! I’ve never seen one so close up before! WOW!
And, as a side note, one of the harbor seals was lazing on the surface. :)
