I had a cat that loved snow he got excited just watching it coming down. I remember once when it snowed, a rare occasion in the south, I put on his harness expecting him to step into it and retreat to the door or hesitate like he normally did but to my surprise he proceeded to start walking around in it, I miss him so much!
I have occasionally let my cats out in the snow while I shovel a path from my back door to my car. And I’ll throw snowballs for them to chase. They have fun for a while, but they tire of the snow and cold quickly (often they are ready to go back in before I’m finished shoveling).
National Clean Off Your Desk Day. Okay, so I just finished cleaning it off (not entirely cleaned off, but straightened up). And I found that pair of reading glasses I had been looking for as well as the 2 gift cards I was looking for. Sometimes it really pays to clean!
Save The Eagles Day
National Bittersweet Chocolate Day. I still like milk chocolate best!
National Cut Your Energy Costs Day. That’s hard to do when your high temperature for the day is in single digits!
I saw a bunch of wild turkeys in a farm field on my way to work yesterday. Must have been about 20 of them. But it’s hard to count them while driving 55 mph down the highway.
I’m enjoying some extra paid time off (PTO) this month. I am taking 2 days of PTO for the next 2 weeks. It starts today. I’m off for the next 4 days, then I work Fri-Sun, then I’ll be off 4 days, then I’ll work Fri, Sat & Sun, then I’ll be off for 5 days. I plan on spending some time reorganizing kitchen cupboards, cleaning out the fridge and other assorting cleaning chores.
Yesterday our high school class of 66 had a Zoom reunion I had been looking forward to. I downloaded Zoom, followed all the instructions to join but couldn’t get in. Several others commented on our FB page that they had the same problem, but many were able to join. So frustrating, I love reunions.
LROS and I live in VERY windy areas. I know we’ve talked about trash cans being knocked over by the wind and trash going everywhere. Or even just the lid being flipped open and trash being blown out.
Our HOA sent out a solution – it’s a magnetic lock for the trash can lid. I ordered one and Brad put it on the trash can yesterday. It works just like the website claims. I’m pretty sure it would work with dogs or raccoons getting into the trash, too.
If anyone wants info, just let me know and I’ll post it. I took pictures and a short video of it yesterday.
GH has guest artist and shortage of black ink (missing T in thought) as well? Unusual Annie appearance (nonbinary?) … but adorable depiction of kitty feeties!
My beautiful Tabbylayan (best mix ever!) loved the snow. She would walk along the fence, knocking it off as she went along, or follow the path I’d shoveled to the bird feeders (this was a long time ago; I don’t let my cats out any more). Such a cutie!
Trivia question—-I’m trying to think of the name of a black-and-white comic strip I haven’t seen in a while, maybe GC removed it? The characters were dogs and cats, standing upright and wearing clothes; most were elderly and that was what the jokes were usually about: the joys of aging. They often sat on a park bench, making remarks about passers-by: young joggers, baby carriages, cell phone users. One character was an old cat named Bunty, used a cane; he often had the last word as he walked away in the last panel. Ring a bell? Thanks!
Can’t say I blame the kitties for not liking snow. Snow is like a houseguest. It quickly wears out its welcome. (Sorry if that sounds negative.) On another note, saw four finches and three golden crowned kinglets while out walking today.

My special, sweet part-Maine Coon would sit on the porch railing while the snow was falling heavily. He just loved it! I miss the gentle boy.

I know some from BCN also come here. Georgia has posted a message on BCN. If you visited there too early you will have missed it.
