ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY. That sounds good to me!
NATIONAL CARROT CAKE DAY
NATIONAL THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED DAY. The Day the Music Died Day remembers the unfortunate and untimely death of singers 22-year-old Buddy Holly, 17-year-old Ritchie Valens, and 28-year-old J. P. Richardson, aka: “The Big Bopper.” These three artists died in an airplane accident on February 3, 1959, near Clear Lake, Iowa. Their pilot, Roger Peterson, also perished in the crash.
FOUR CHAPLAINS DAY. Four Chaplains Day honors four military chaplains from World War II who sacrificed their lives for fellow service members. The four chaplains were Reverend George L. Fox, a Methodist minister, Reverend Clark V. Poling of the Reformed Church of America, Rabbi Alexander D. Goode, and Father John P. Washington of the Roman Catholic Church. Their voyage began on January 23, 1943. At the time, German U-Boats were patrolling the area, and the convoy was on high alert. When a German submarine torpedoed the Dorchester on February 3, 1943, in the frigid waters off the coast of Newfoundland, chaos ensued. Aboard the ship were 904 service members.Eyewitnesses recounted the chaplains’ heroism, including giving their life jackets and gloves to other service members. They prayed with service members, assisting them into lifeboats. The four chaplains remained on the sinking Dorchester. Only 230 men were rescued from the waters.Congress awarded the four chaplains the Four Chaplains Medal in 1960.
From yesterday’s comments, jessegooddoggy said, “Still haven’t found Oliver’s calendar. Seems like some days I spend half the day looking for something right in front of me.”
This happens to me a lot! I got a Walmart gift card for Christmas. I know where I thought I put it, but it isn’t there. I have been looking for it for about 3 weeks now and still have not found it. And my brother, Jim, who gave me the card has asked me a few times if I’ve used it yet. I don’t have the heart to tell him I misplaced it. I’m sure when I do find it, it will be someplace I already looked countless times already.
Well, now we know Jack has in the bag. Or rather, HAD in the bag. Thanks to Chesney, they’ll have to have something else for supper. On another note, saw two wrens, three chickadees, a spotted towhee, a robin, and a golden crowned kinglet while out walking today.

I knew it.
“Supper for many a night” — but not when Chesney is around. As Jack says, “cats don’t have a conscience.”

Well, you know what Juvenal said: Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who shall guard the guards themselves)?

At least when the police get there, they can say ‘Salmon, what salmon??’
Chris Sherlock 12 months ago
Technically, Chesney is right that he’s guarding the salmon…just not the way he was supposed to.
