And a special Happy Birthday to our daughter. 35 years ago she decided to come into this world early. Despite the ice storm the night before and the 50 mile journey to the nearest hospital with an NICU, and a long struggle until we could bring her home, she is a healthy adult who has a deep love for animals, especially cats. When her birthday falls on Thanksgiving it reminds us all the more how much we have to be thankful for. Also we are thankful for the doctor who sent us to the other hospital rather than have her delivered locally where they weren’t equipped to handle the premature birth. He later would perform the lifesaving surgery on my wife when he she had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured even though she had her tubes tied so wasn’t supposed to be able to get pregnantGod has truly blessed us .

My late, great Boston cat Simon wasn’t a purebred Russian Blue, but he sure looked like one. He was born in the backyard in July of 1983 and crossed over in March of 2000. He was the most loving cat I’ve ever had, and my late mother’s favorite. If I ever have another gray cat, he will be named Simon.
