Before I retired, I worked in the construction office of San Diego City Schools. My boss was a huge cat person, as was my co-worker and the two architects down the hall. (We were in a big trailer so the director, also a cat person didn’t bother us). Anyway, while out on different sites, Steve was always calling us telling us that he found a kitten and to get ready. That meant one of us needed to run over to the pet store for kitten food and litter. We used a lid from the cases of paper boxes for a litter box. We used Steves’ office for the nursery. He was gone a lot so we could keep the lights off and close the door. One of the kittens took a liking to Steves’ in/out boxes and that’s where it slept. Steve never moved the kitten; he’d just do something else or go back out to a site. If the kitten was really tiny and he couldn’t find the mama or other kittens, and it was obviously still nursing, we’d call my friend Margie. She’d run it home on her break and hand feed it KMR and keep it. We got a LOT of cats and kittens spayed/neutered and adopted out.
Just finished cleaning the kitchen and decided to take five. But I’m not really finished. Parker is napping in the kitchen chair I moved to the living room while I mopped. Can’t move it back til the nap is over.

Are you impling that the universe does not revolve around the needs and desires of Mittens?

I eventually labeled my In-box with my cat’s name.

I can just imagine Mittens curled up in the inbox, with one (stink) eye half open. #Talktothebutt.
