Bruce the Blowhard was so enthralled by himself in shiny armor that he just trotted by the maiden in despair.

This is Gareth and Lymette from the Arthur legend. Read all about it at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gareth. It’s not very faithful to Malory; Gareth should look more like a kitchen boy than a knighr at this point.

The knight, on the other hand, had a very clear idea how much to tup.

The armor was hard, heavy and inhibited movement, so it was worth taking off, but it took so long even if you had the special wrenches.

Well, if the armor was shiny the knight likely had not much battle experience. At least not in that armor. Perhaps he’s wearing his Sunday best, just for you. Or he’s a wannabe “knight” with too much money.

Black Knight: The Black Knight always triumphs! Have at you! Come on then.

[Hopping on one leg towards King Arthur]

[King Arthur chops his other leg off, leaving his body upright on the ground.]

Black Knight: Alright, we’ll call it a draw.

    King Arthur: Come, Patsy!

Black Knight: Oh, oh I see. Running away, eh?!

Ah, the old ‘Damsel in Distress" scam. And when the knight gets down to help the ’damsel’, she ‘tips’ him into the ravine and makes off with his horse. I see she’s gotten one already
