There were too many to fit in the tub, But they needed a place where they could scrub, They thougth it was cool, When they found this neat pool, Just remember the first rule of swim club.
There are two versions of this painting. This is Bazille’s Sanitized for the Saints version that was used for an advertisement for Boy Scout Summer Camp.
The other Nature at Its Best version was the inspiration for Baron Wilhelm von Gloeden’s photography.

Other versions has the strip coloration image.
Again, a larger strip image is shown by merely clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #935 (November 22, 2013) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment. I have added a comment there (awaiting Mr. Melcher’s approval, may take days while he’s away) pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 3 works by him have been used here (4 times total, including this repeat), the February 28, 2014, strip being its first use, the prior strip by him. GoComics has deactivated the hyperlinks and removed the new lines in my comment there; but, perhaps the text remains informative.

/// Here’s a scene of a party aquatic
that’s decidedly homoerotic.
Some swam nude, most were suited,
but the pond is polluted.
Bathers with open sores turned necrotic.

These images look like they were carefully cut out of the magazine and pasted onto this landscape painting.

At the moment they’re having great fun/
But it’s destined to come undone/
In a year-maybe two/

before nudity was invented the boys swam with clothes on, that was soon over when the girls left.

Before nudity was invented/
There was nakedness – sometimes resented -/
But when weather turned bad/
And no clothing was had/
The resentful most likely repented.
