Brutus: I'd like dessert, but I'm trying to eat a healthier diet...I'll have the carrot cake.
Waitress: Just so you know, there's nothing particularly healthy about carrot cake.
Brutus: Don't be absurd! It has carrots in it, it must be good for me!

Yeah, keep telling yourself that and your waistline will increase steadily. Anything that says cake or pie, no matter what the ingredients is not healthy for you. So if you are going to have pie or cake, just take chocolate…LOL…

Oatmeal is healthy – all the soluble fiber reduces cholesterol. So oatmeal cookies are like heart medicine.

A standard recipe carrot cake can have as many calories per slice as 854, with about 450 of them from fat. There are low fat recipes; haven’t tried them yet. For some of us with diabetes or borderline diabetes, our problems include high carbohydrates (that includes sugar), so I’m always on the lookout for low carb desserts. Somehow I doubt that carrot cake is on that list!
