Why not? Brutus is a scrupulous employee.

He would do better to just close the business for a few days.

Rancid wouldn’t even trust him to count the money bags.

This is where Brutus sells himself as a valuable employee. Reassure the boss you can handle it, and suggest that a nice bonus would not be out of order.

I had a boss once who went on vacation, and our building was hit by a tornado, causing parts of the roof to fly off, and water damage in our computer room. I told him when he returned that he is the only one I know of who can truly say that he leaves for a week, and the whole place falls apart.

The responsibility old Rancid has, what would happen if the tea cozy factory went on strike whilst Rancid went away?

Oh! How the money bags would just fly away!!!

I wouldn’t trust him with all those money bags either.

Rancid just needs to cozy up to the idea of Brutus being cozy with the cozies.

Poor Brutus, navigating the vicissitudes of life and work, unappreciated by the boss and sometimes his family.

With cell phones and an iPad you could run your business remotely for a few days. But the real reason being the miser that he is, he can’t part with the money for a vacation.

The boss is a real confidence builder there

Looks like the “Quarterly Dividends” are up this quarter for the Boss!!

Aside from looking demanding and super critical, what really does bossman do? What need has he for a vacation?

He’s higher up that corporate ladder than I thought to make that suggestion to the Boss.AND the Boss, however, seems to be pondering the possibility. Probably won’t happen as there is a lot to win and lose on both parties if that took place. However…….

He cannot afford a vacation. The worry about losing money or control while away would give him a heart attack.

At least Brutus offered to help, which is more that most of your other employees would do.

This reminds me of Mr. Burns and Homer. The last thing you want is an oaf taking care of your business!

Glad to see the Boss’s money bag supply has been replenished. Apparently the layoffs had their desired effect. Some poor guy is on unemployment while Boss has more money than he knows what to do with.

Veeblefester does have a valid point Brutus, so I wouldn’t push that idea.

Again like always, Brutus skateboarded right that one!

Bossman could just leave a sign on his door that he is busy and not to be disturbed. No one would notice that he is gone. He just needs to also leave his car in his parking spot. How many emergencies do tea cozies cause? Brutus might cause a few on his own, but tea cozies are pretty tame.

The ultimate unsympathetic character.

Leaving those bags of money lying around seems like a bad idea.

Tell him you’ll keep his seat warm and count his money.
