I have a little bet with my dry cleaner that’s ongoing. Everything is mostly casual nowadays, so when I bring in a suit for cleaning, I have her guess…Wedding or funeral. Lately the funerals outnumber the weddings.
Reminds me of the story where a guy puts on an old coat that he hasn’t worn in years and reaches into a pocket and finds a ticket from the shoe repair shop down the street. He had completely forgotten about the shoes. The repair shop was still in business so he thought as a joke he’d take the ticket to the shop, because no way the shoes were still there after all this time. He goes in and presents the ticket to the owner, while trying to hide his smirk. The owner looks at the ticket and tells him, “they’ll be ready next Tuesday.”
Makes sense to Hurricane Hattie and RUTH. Hard to beat Baby Ruth -- candy bar. I regress 75 years or more. Remember the commercial – they melt in your mouth, not in your hand? M@M’s. I think I am older than M@M’s.
Only one suit. That IS. surprising due to your being in middle management and with all your business travel. If you need it today take your suit back. I am pretty sure she would have it ready in one hour if she is going to lose a sale if she doesn’t.. in any event you get your suit back. Have the wife touch it up with an iron and it will look as good as new, unless she burns it but it would be a black mark so who would notice……
I have used Dryel for my Dry Clean Only clothing and for a quick refreshing scent on my other clothes if they have not been worn, like seasonal ones. I suggest low setting and the least time allowed.

Always read the fine print.

At the end of the day you take it where they charge the least. Though these days that can be tricky if there is only one dry cleaner in town.

I’d look for another dry cleaner…!

It’s going to take even longer now that the EPA banned perchloroethylene.

I have a coworker that works 40 hours, he just spreads it out over a month. And yes, he’s on the clock 8 hours a day

Stephen Wright joke. “Your sign says you’re open 24 hours!” “Yeah, but not in a row.”

A sport coat and dress slacks is good enough almost anywhere.

She’s using a toothbrush and baking soda. You should be happy for the detailed attention! Just be sure no one else drops anything off till Friday!

maybe they should hire some after work hour workers so they could get the stuff done while no customers are around. ;)

I think pretty much everyone would interpret it like Brutus does.

It sounds like Ruth is not all that rapid.

This doesn’t do Brutus any good, but Ruth does have a point.
