Oh lady, there are far worse things for a cheese to smell like than feet.

(I learned a new word just this week: turophile = a lover of cheese.)

My nose says that if it smells like feet, it’s Parmesan.

It’s better than Pecorino Reeboko. That’s not very gouda.

looking up the worse smelling cheeses I found this

“Mainly produced in Germany, Limburger is perhaps the most popular of all smelly cheeses. It is fermented using Brevibacterium linens, a bacterium partly responsible for the smell of the human body. As a result, when people say Limburger smells like human feet they are scientifically correct.”

Most likely it’s Danish! When I worked there with a traveling theater company, my unit members and I found only one Danish cheese we liked: children’s cheese! Honestly, that’s what it’s called. In Danish it’s Børneost. Literally “children’s cheese.” All the grown-ups’ cheese were stinky and smelly and unfortunately tasted just like they smelled. And they sure smelled!

If I forget to wash my ears for a month, you should see what I can scrape off the back and out of them. Smell it? No way, I may be 77 but I’m not ignorant.
