I’ve only flown a couple of times in my life, but I do know that turbulence does not feel like Heaven

You don’t know that. Th’ plane might be whacking along the bottom of the pearly gates, and trippin’ angels over and all.

Planes are so much safer than cars, but you hear about every single plane crash and not the 100 people who die in cars daily.

I like flying myself, but I can understand why so many people don’t. It really doesn’t bear thinking about too closely, being thousands of feet above the ground in a pressurized metal tube.

I generally don’t care for flying because its a pain. Partly stuffing my 6 ft plus body into a coach seat and dealing with the delays layovers and general feeling of loss of control. I’ll take driving every time if I can.

If I’m in a car crash, there’s a chance I could walk away. If I’m in a boat crash, there’s a chance I could swim away. If I’m in a plane crash, there’s no chance.

Flying in a C-47 back in 1952 we lost an engine. Pilot landed with no problem.

Im not one to put much faith in airline statistics. If an airbus A380 with a full load of 853 passengers has a wing fall off at 35,000 feet it will travel 5629 passenger miles before everyone dies.
