A hip specialist examined me and said “It’s not your hip, it’s your back. That’ll be $200.”

I always bring a book in case of a long wait

I was shocked my last doctors visit, barely read a few pages and they called my name

Not like any doctor visit I’ve ever had. I’d like to see one have a bill ready in five minutes.

I once had an appointment at 9:30. At 10:30 the nurse came out and told me the Dr had an emergency surgery, but could see me at 12:30. Since I didn’t want to drive home, then back I just stayed in the waiting area. At lunch time the nurse came out and said she was going to lunch, asked if I wanted anything. I told her I was fine and would just take a nap. She left and came back in few minutes. She said she felt really bad about leaving me and invited me to lunch with her.We dated for almost two years. I teased her about my nurse making house calls. Still friends after almost 20 years passing.

I don’t mind this. My previous doctor and I used to talk more about gardening than my health. He retired and my new doctor is a woman and she just has me get lots of blood tests and we spend a few minutes taking my readings and out.

Good thing I didn’t waste time going to the clinic for my rotator cuff injury. The doctor was able to tell me I’m old via messaging. Naproxen sodium is the new “Take two aspirin”.

Airlines get a bad rap for overbooking but they are not nearly as bad as doctors.

I don’t see where the problem is here, other than him not being the centre of the universe…

What, you’re not gonna run needless tests to charge him for?

this is japanese medical care in a nutshell, except for the exorbitant cost. no appointments at most medical care facilities, so you sit around for much of the day, waiting to get in for a 2-minute consult…

I’m lucky to have a GP that actually listens and takes the time to examine me when needed. If I’m only there for prescription refills, we both keep the appointment short for the sake of other patients.
