Years ago (late 50s) my family took a drive up to Erie, PA. All 5 of us in the car; Mom, Dad, Sister, me, and the dog. We went all the way to Presque Isle Bay and got out of the car to get a better look at the lake. Dog decided to go into the lake. We “enjoyed” Eau de wet dog (the bay was severely polluted at that time) for the 4+ hour drive back to Pittsburgh.

If someone comes over and doesn’t like the scent of the candle, it’s their problem.

We don’t use scented candles but this is funny. You can look up The Stinky Company ()

Sure, blame it on the dog, everybody else does.

A Prairie Home Companion once advertised a line of scent sprays for travelers, to remind them of home, with “Wet Dog” as one of the options.

Can I be the only person to notice that plain Greek yogurt smells just like a wet dog?

I just returned after taking the dogs for a bit of play time in the Salish Sea. After a rinse and rubdown with towels and a blast from a hair dryer they still have a bit of that “arôme de chien mouillé” about them. (It sounds better in French. But still requires a few hours outside to fully disperse the odour.)

One of the most embarrassing trips in my life was when I took my shoes off in the back seat and my dad stopped and put them in the trunk. I think he would have put my feet in there, too, if he could. I had seriously stinky feet!
