Looking busy is the secret to success in the business world!

One technique is to carry a pen and a few index cards. Walk down a hallway where you will be seen. Stop suddenly and look up in deep thought. Pull an index card out and jot down something (anything). Turn and walk quickly in the opposite direction with determination.

Another technique is to go to a meeting. Look at whoever’s talking and shake your head up and down. Raise an eyebrow once in a while, and pour yourself a drink of water. Doodle on your datebook. Don’t talk unless you sre just agreeing with the boss. Think long thoughts about how you would tell everyone to take the day off if you were the boss. As you exit the meeting, look for someone else exiting that you can commiserate with about how the meeting was a big joke, a waste of time, and how nothing was accomplished. You’ll go far.

My hubby says if you’re in a manufacturing plant, walk around with a clipboard, and no one will question that you have permission to be there.

Rmom, “the clipboard” is certainly an all time classic!
