Reminds me – when my maternal grandmother was a little girl in Spain, that was one of her chores , taking the wash down to the nearest creek and pounding the clothes clean with rocks; this included the dirty diapers from her little siblings. If her mother found any still dirty, she’d throw them all on the ground, stomp on them and make my grandmother do them over.
