No problemo. Just consider it the Crime of the Century (So Far).

Take a clue from the news, there’s a new “_____ of the century” at least every couple months.

What did Gunther do that the crime of the century is one of his worries?

A ‘crime of the century’ could be counted from anywhere in the last 120 months. No one ever said it was limited to 100 year calendar breaks.

so far it’s the war in Ukraine… Human and environmental disaster, meaningless waste – caused by Putin.

Take the first crime of the century, call it, “The Crime of the Century,” and then outlaw all greater crimes for the rest of the century. That should reduce crime.

“We were gonna rob the bank, but Tiny Tim broke into his piggyback back at the turn of the century, so we had to resort to taking a penny we didn’t need out of the ‘Take one/leave one’ dish at the cafe.”

The Crime of the Century was a hit-and-run with an old Buick.

Depends on your understanding of “century,” or how you choose to define it. If you’re so rigid that it has to be from (whichever) 1 to (whichever) 100, then you may have a problem that will keep you awake at night….
