“Kissed the girls and Flora made him cry?”
The version before that one was:
“Georgie Porgie, puddin’ and pie”
“Kissed the girls and made them cry”
“When the boys came out to play”
“He kissed them too, he’s funny that way!”
;-)
I’m glad I’m old, when I was in Grade School I used to always chase the girls and try to kiss them, they loved it and I had a good time too. If that happens today the parents are put in jail and you end up living in a foster home.
Poem refers to a time of innocence. Doesn’t seem to be anything that qualifies anymore.
Knock, knock! Who’s there? Anita. Anita who? Anita kiss from you, please!
In the late 20th Century, Schroeder once accused Lucy of sexual harassment.

I’ve often wondered why his kissing them made the girls cry. Odd little nursery rhyme.
“The Inner City Mother Goose” was published in 1969. Example:There was a crooked manAnd he did very well.
…off to jail Georgie was sent,
