That’s where the pro-gun argument breaks down:
A car is designed with a legitimate intended use – transportation – but can be misused to injure or kill.
A hammer is designed with a legitimate intended use – construction – but can be misused to injure or kill.
A gun is designed with a legitimate intended use – destroy or kill whatever is in front of it – but can be misused to… what? Dig a small hole? Paddle a boat? It’s design intent is death and destruction.

“Accidents” is a bit hard to quantify, and traffic accidents mostly involve property damage; deaths are rare in comparison. Gun accidents mostly involve death. IAE, gun deaths exceed traffic deaths on an annual basis.

The numbers are relative, how many cars on the roads right now versus guns in the population? Mind you I’m far more worried about dying by a texting driver than a mad lunatic.
