Go get him! Or her. Chew on him a bit, for revenge, then put him in the same hot locked car for punishment fitting crime. Sigh. Probably nothing at all will happen to him. (Or her. Lots of women on videos leave kids and pets in cars while they shop.)
Teslas have dog mode setting on their air-conditioning. The cabin is air conditioned while in dog-mode. The cabin has a camera so you can watch your dog on your phone.
I believe the owners should be put in a car for a couple of hours to see how it feels. Some may survive even. No loss for those who don’t, not really human.
You can actually see how hot it gets in a parked car by searching for Dr. Ernie Ward who is a veterinarian on YouTube who conducted an experiment testing how hot it does get, even with the windows down partially. An instructive video to share with friends.
Btw, I like Raeside’s raising awareness of this issue which he did on the 1st of August this year. Were there other strips about this issue – if so, can anyone supply the dates – TIA
Children die the same way every year. Just because you have tinted windows and an air conditioner doesn’t keep your car from turning into a toaster oven when it is parked and the engine is off.
Here it is low class felony to leave a dog in a car when the outside temp is over 85. Civilians are allowed to break into a car to rescue animal, but must call police to report first. Totally illegal to leave a child. Yet every year here several dogs and kids die in hot cars.
There are laws against that now. And they include a Good Samaritan clause. You cannot be sued for breaking the window. Tearing the whole door off might be overdoing it though.

Unfortunately, this, or a child left in a car, is almost a guaranteed news story during a heat wave. :)
