You know, Wallace, a couple of markers in the right colors, and you could draw your shoes on. Best of both worlds!

Ventilation? They have ventilation? You kids don’t know how easy you have it! Why, back in my day . . . What was I saying?

Reminds me of the playground incident decades ago when we as 8 year olds were playing King of the Hill on a mound of dirt on the school playground. Skinny Eddie never could get position until a struggle vacated the top for a few seconds and he got to the peak.

At the top he quickly unzipped and the stream flowed as he did a 360. He was unchallenged as King.

Fat Alice had waddled off yelling for the teacher. When she collared him (literally) and started to haul him away he expressed his belief that he was not in the wrong because there were no rules in King Of The Hill.

Kinda enjoyed school. Friends were there. Small school had excellent cooks. We could go off campus for lunch. In highschool there was football practice and many victorious Friday nights. I wasn’t a scholar but I was a nerd. I liked it there.

A kid in my fifth grade class put a full carton of milk into the a/c unit on the last day of school as a “parting gift” before going off to middle school.

The problem with putting sardines in ventilation systems is no matter the amount of water you put them in, it evaporates. A problem to work out while waiting in those single file lines.

Did not like school. The end of summer, I would declare, “No shirt! No indoor activities! No reading! No writing!” And we’d have record low temperatures. The first week of school, we’d have record high temperatures and you skin would stick to the varnish on the desk.

Reminds me of a prank we did back in college. Small college, so each year just had one classroom and the teachers rotated in. We hid cheese in the radiators in the room as well as in the desks. So, when the cheese began to smell, they found the ones in the desk, but not in the radiators. Luckily, the weather was decent and they could have classes outside for a while :)
