Back in Jr. High when the CB craze was just fading out, I was sitting in class being my usual fidgety self and rubbed the eraser part of my pencil across the edge of my desk (not the eraser itself, just the ribbed metal housing). It made an odd noise and I did it a couple times. This one kid kept looking back at me, and finally the teacher noticed and asked what was going on. He said, “He’s got a radio or something. I keep hearing it going ‘breaker, breaker, breaker’”. I just busted out laughing because it did sound a bit like a muffled CB. I ended up having to show the teacher it was just a pencil and unintentionally caused a huge distraction.

Notice that the seagull disappears after panel 2. It is now hiding on the lower shelf of Amelia’s locker, waiting for the door to close…

I get the feeling that I missed a comic where he says he needs a distraction.

Pretty sure fireworks in your locker would get you a few days vacation – at home.
