I’m much worse: as a skeptical solipsist I doubt there is an objective reality! After all, mainstream theory holds that every night we all create worlds that can not be distinguished from this one by any known test. I am about to retire from an electric company as a senior IT field technician with a half century of finding the roots of malfunctions, and when I have mentioned to my colleagues, “Whatever this world is, it is not what we think it is” I get enthusiastic agreement.
I have a nieghbor tht believes just that. He will argue that Anarctica is really the outer border and there is a dome over the earth to protect it. He also believes that the sun and planets revolve around the earth. The troubling part is, he has a degree in math.
The Wiz reminds me of another wizard named Prospero. He too wanted to push back time, but found that was not possible so he performed one last act of his magic arts before passing into oblivion. Too bad he didn’t wait around a bit longer: we could use a wizard right about now.
I have a brother who only watches a certain conservative news station. While talking to him a couple of days ago, I found that he hadn’t heard of the red Tesla that was launched into space.
Well…there are currently about 7.7 Billion people on Earth. I doubt that a so-called ‘large portion’ of them could fill a high school gymnasium. As Wikipedia points out…even some of those who make the claim are not really serious…merely attention seekers.

Hey, 52% of the British voted for Brexit, because they believed the guys telling them that Brexit would be good for them.

Well, from where I stand (though right now I’m sitting), it does kinda look flat-ish.

I had to come here today just to mention that a few thousand people do not represent “a large portion” of our society.
