Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Mystery Science Theater, 3000. A guy and two robots trapped on a ship and forced to watch bad movies⊠and the fun of listening to them rip said movies apart.
syfy also show anime. but, they donât anymore. they show piranha shark attack. that channel used to be cool, but now, it is unwatchable like tlc, discovery, history, fox, etcâŠ.no wonder netflix and the internet is gaining popularity.
Iâm going to miss Eureka. Its quirky goodness has been a mainstay for me for the past 6-seasons. And, I will definitely miss Erica Cerra and Sally Richardson-Married.
The conundrum is that those who are out of touch with reality donât know that theyâre out of touch with reality BECAUSE theyâre out of touch with reality. You have to have some grasp of reality to have awareness. This explains cable networks and their self destructive choices.
Donât forget that SciFi used to carry kidsâ programming. First it was the Animation Station, which was replaced with the BKN syndication package. That got unceremoniously dropped for paid programming and re-runs.[]They very nearly made it up with MonkeyBar TV, a random collection of shows based on Hasbro properties + Kaiju Big Battel. []That got canned, too. I guess SciFi doesnât have any sort of respect for younger audiences.
LOL! OK I admit, I am still miffed about them cancelling Farscape, esp when the original plans was for just one more season to complete the story :/ I can think of quite a few shows I liked that got axed pretty quickly â for what wrestling and ârealityâ shows? Cancelled cable a long time agoâŠ
All these boneheaded decisions seem to stem from some sorely misguided idea that theyâll attract a wider audience. There are many head-in-the-sand approaches to this end:1- Copy what everyone else is doing.2- Swear by demographic studies.3- Copy what everyone else is doing.4- Hire new executives who immediately kill projects that were already in motion, because they donât reflect their choices and they canât take personal credit for them.5- Copy what everyone else is doing.
This is awesome. I love MST3K, even have a piece of the set from the end of show auction. Iâll say this for those horrible âmade for SyFyâ movies â since MST3K was like watching bad movies with your wise-cracking friends, my wife and I will TiVo the bad SyFy movies and crack wise while watching them. Itâs like making our own MST3K episodes. Meanwhile, there is always Cinematic Titanic and RiffTrax, where the old MST3K crews are still cracking wise.
I still miss Farscape. I will miss Eureka. I do watch Warehouse 13 and Alphas. And if I want a good laugh, I sometimes (though pretty rarely) watch one of those silly syfy movies.

Okay, sci fi gave me my start. The sci fi channels web site was the first to publish any of my work, but still I had to bust them a little.

Mega shark vs giant octopus. Piranhaconda, Dinocrock vs Godzillaâs nephew, etc. Pure camp.

Then think of it at its best. You need not worry about sullying it with misguided network programming.

The most dreaded six words in the English language: âAn original SyFy channel feature movie.â
