A cut tree will eventually compost.

My sister has an artifical Christmas tree that she decorated once. Then on Christmas Eve, she takes the bag off the tree, puts it in the livingroom..and on Boxing Day the bag goes back on it, and back in the basement corner.

Black on orange is okay, but black on green is hard to read. I had the same problem with white letters on black screens back in the day. But then, maybe that’s just me.

I have a foot tall pre-decorated tree ad one that’s about 6 inches tall. Both are stuffed in a closet never to see the light of day again. Back when I was younger and poorer, I made a tree out of felt – cut in the shape of an “evergreen” and cut “ornaments” attached – hung it on a wall and at the end of the season, rolled up like a mat and stored it.

My ex husband laughed at me for not taking the tree down until April. His antics were overwhelming. With 3 children and him, I was eternally exhausted. I had to wash all the laundry in the bathtub and hang it on makeshift clotheslines, for starters. He also found that amusing. On the other hand, my adult children consider me a type of hero. :D

Unless it’s shedding needles, there’s no need to take it down
