I’d be cranky too if I had a lawn to mow that stretches all the way to the horizon! (G00gle tells that it is 2.9 miles away for someone standing five feet seven tall on flat terrain!)
I’m early to bed, early to rise, I get my best work done in the early morning. Got up to pee at midnight, couldn’t get back to sleep so after two hours laying there, I got up! I’ll be tired today but can’t nap so maybe tonight I can catch up! 4 1/2 hours isn’t enough.

I love getting up at 4am (sometimes even earlier), reading the comics with coffee and then doing all my stuff for the day and finishing by lunchtime. Afternoons are for napping, reading, or swimming in my pool. I go to bed between 8-9pm. Feel great. No interest in drinking and partying. Ok, maybe for New Year’s Eve. That’s it. I am almost 70. I think this is common. Yes?
For me my mom used to get up early to fix dad his breakfast, now I am doing the same, minus cooking breakfast, husband eats his cereal and I eat mine. Then nap time hits.

Kind of a self-fulfilling thing.

That’s because they haven’t had their coffee yet.
I don’t know how many coffees it takes to be friendly, but its not twelve.

Regular early starters (risers) are not so cranky.
It’s people who are normally late starters (risers) who try to rise early (or when they rise early) who are cranky.

I am one of those who think 10pm is way too early for bed, even when I get up for the early shift at 4am
