I have been down a few of both.

What’s your destination? What is the time difference between the two? Is there another way? Are these the only options?

For me it would depend on how fast I need to be at my destination. If I’m in a rush (and it’s not a crowded road for the eyesore that would take longer anyway) I’d do the eyesore. Otherwise I’d go for the scenic. I’ve done that on many occasions.

Years ago Pensacola had two main highways going through town, Hwy 98 which went along the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Hwy 90 which went through the poorer section of town further inland. Nowadays it’s I-10 which is typically innocuous.

Amtrak seems to run through everyone’s backyard. Where they throw all ‘that stuff’.

And of course the inexplicably popular Dark Mode Route.
